scratchbuilt eldar nightwing 1

The miniature produced by Forge World for the Eldar Nightwing is one of the few that I'm not very keen on; it just doesn't seem to fit in with the style of the Phoenix and Vampire. I decided to try and make my own instead - this was my first scratchbuild project, but I've since decided to abandon it.

date: 2008-2010 (project abandoned)
components: 1x Falcon, plasticard, Green Stuff, 6mm diameter clear acrylic rod, neodymium rare earth magnets (various sizes), metal War Walker pilot, brass rod, Eldar Guardian head, metal Support Weapon platform, metal Shuriken Cannons

The front of the cockpit was made from half of a metal Support Weapon platform. The pilot's body was made primarily from an out-of-production metal War Walker pilot. The pilot's chair was attached to the hull using brass rod. Scratchbuilt Eldar Nightwing cockpit

These out-of-production shuriken cannons have targeters, which I have used to represent this flyer's "Interceptor" special rule. One of the new-style Guardian helmets replaced the outdated design of the metal one. The hull was extended with plasticard. Scratchbuilt Eldar Nightwing cockpit
7. The cockpit, now with weapons and an extended hull. It has also been attached to the "neck" of the craft at this point. After some consideration I decided that the conversion wasn't working as I'd hoped so I decided to abandon this project.
