1. The first change that I made was to carefully cut away the hair from the top of the warp jump generator carapace. The hair doesn't flow in the right direction to match the model's forwards and upwards leaping movement.
2. The crackling, spider-web warp portal was assembled without any changes.
3. The Brood Twain (top) and Spider's Fangs (bottom), before I started work on converting them.
4. One of my main objectives when assembling Lhykhis was to swap the carapace weapons around. To me, the Brood Twain are much bulkier than the Spider's Fangs and make the model look top-heavy. By swapping them around, the Brood Twain's position matches that of the twin death spinners on the Exarch, tying the two models together more closely. With the Spider's Fangs on top of the carapace, it mimics the pose of a rearing tarantula with its front legs ready to strike.
5. A mock-up of the Spider's Fangs in their new position on top of the carapace.
6. With the Brood Twain now positioned underneath the carapace, it was necessary to change the angle of the armatures at the joint.
7. The fully-assembled warp jump generator, with it's carapace-mounted weapons.
8. Alternate view of the warp jump generator.
9. Rear view of the completed warp jump generator.
10. The scenic base was mostly left unchanged; I angled the portal forwards slightly to change the angle that Lhykhis is jumping at and added some ruins from the Warp Spider Exarch model.
11. Close-up of the ruins on the base.
This hair flows backwards, which more closely matches the movement of Lhykhis as she leaps forwards.
12. I changed the top-knot on Lhykhis's helmet for one from a Dark Reaper.
13. The torso takes shape.
14. A rear view of the conversion of Lhykhis.
15. A mock-up of the conversion; the model will be painted in sub-assemblies.
16. The complete model, awaiting basing.
17. Side view of the model, showing the changed angle of Lhykhis's leap out of the portal.
