eldar phoenix lord fuegan

The Phoenix Lord models haven't been updated since their original release way back in 1998; they are still good-looking models but I wanted to update their look slightly. For Fuegan, I mainly wanted to streamline the design slightly and remove some of the unnecessary cabling and pipes.

date: 2008-present (work-in-progress)

I extended Fuegan's Fire Pike slightly in order to make it stand out more on the battlefield. Fuegan's arm has been bent slightly so that the axe is no longer parallel to the floor. Eldar Phoenix Lord Fuegan conversion
1. From the front the miniature does not look hugely different - the changes are fairly subtle.

I removed the unnecessary cabling on this arm as it unbalanced the miniature in my opinion. I filed down some of the detail on the axe to make the fire emblem stand out. I remodelled the base of the axe using Green Stuff. The Burning Axe
2. A close-up of the axe. In the original miniature Fuegan holds the axe very near to the end of the shaft, so I changed the position of his grip to somewhere more natural.

3. In order to bring the design more in line with the current range of Fire Dragons, I decided to have Fuegan standing on top of the damaged carapace of a Space Marine Dreadnought.
